A non-governmental organization, Concern on Climate Change for Community Initiative (FOURCi) has said that robust synergy with security agencies and stakeholders will enhance enrollments of girl child educational of programme in Borno State.

The Executive Director FOURCi, Gabriel Abraham Bala stated this while marking the 2022 International Day of the Girl Child held in Maiduguri that the meetings aim to ensure adequate protection of the education facilities in the State.
Gabriel stressed the the importance of the Girl Child education to the society, urging the traditional and stakeholders to ensure the access to education in paramount in their polices.
“The essence of an advocacy visit is to appreciate the security agencies so far for the role they played in protecting schools, especially insurgency.
“Our aim is also to see how they can further protect schools and release the schools that military and police have taken over for shelter, we are advocating that they can return the schools to the community and again this will help students to start using these facilities for learning.
“We are urging them to protect the schools as they vacate so that it will be safe for girls child because they are always vulnerable for attacks on schools. This is basically what we are advocating for to ensure the safety of schools for girls child in the region.”he said.
Gabriel and teams members also visited the Borno State Police Command, Headquarters of Operation Hadin Kai UNICEF, Novel Novel Alliance for development aid (NADA)
Integrated women and youth empowerment center (IWAYEC).
In his remarks, the State Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umar stressed the need for all hand to be on decks so that girls child could get quality education in the state.
He noted that the police would continue to play their constitutional roles in protecting the girls child rights and education through providing adequate security measures in making sure that schools are safe and conducive for learning.
Abdu extended his gratitude and commended FOURCi for taking this bold step and promised to give his full support to ensure that schools are safe and the girl child right is being protected.

Also, the Deputy Director Army Public Relations, Operation Hadin Kai, Major Sam Zakhomi assured the team that Theater Commander would always provide adequate security to protect education facilities in the region.
