Don’t allow opposition to mislead voters – PCC

University Don and Chieftan of All Progressive Congress (APC) have advised the Nigerian to of those who spreading the misinformation and campaigns of calumny against its Presidential candidate Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu ambitions in next year election.

Prof Shehu Mustapha Liberty who is also the Borno State Chairman Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and Media and Publicity Committee APC said this during the Inaugural of the state sub-committee in Maiduguri on Monday and noted that the campaign should be conveyed in local languages to reach the grassroots. 

He charged the members of the group to ensure that Nigerian are not allowed to be divided by elite which used religious and ethnicity in campaign.

He said the mandate of group is to educate and inform the voters on the dangers of manipulation.

“Our mandate is to ensure the victory of Tinubu/Shettima and all APC candidates across Nigeria, this is our mandate and we must vigorously work towards this.

“Everyone knows the track records of Tinubu and Shettima and we need to spread the good news to voters.

“We are confident that we are going to deliver Borno State for APC.

“We should not allow disinformation, manipulation and misinformation at all. When politics comes like this, truth is a first casualty, people come with all sorts of misleading information, especially in social media. In order to mislead the average voters,” he said.

Also, speaking at the event, Professor of Mass Communication, Danjuma Gambo enjoined the members to ensure that they create awareness especially at the grassroots and on the issues-based campaign.

Some of the sub-committee members of PCC Media and Publicity include Hon. Chris Akaba as Secretary, Hon. Babakura Abba Jato, Hon. Isa Gusau, Comrade James Bwala and others.
