2023 election: Zulum approves 8 days holiday for schools in Borno


Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has approved an addendum to the 2022/2023 Schools Calendar, by declaring eight (8) days holidays during the forthcoming 2023 General Elections.

The Commissioner of Education, Engr Lawan Abba Wakilbe disclosed in a statement issued on Friday in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

Engr. Wakilbe noted that the governor approved the holidays to enable staff and eligible students exercise their civic rights and allow for the usage of schools as collation centres.

Daily Platform reports that the Presidential and National Assembly elections will now hold on Saturday, February 25, 2023, while governorship and state houses of assembly elections will hold on March 11, 2023.

Also, The Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC) had announced Saturday, 20th May, 2023 as the schedule date for Local Government Council elections in all the 27 LGAs of the state
