Tsangaya, Imans, others endorse Tinubu for President

A Coalition of religious groups has urged Nigerians to vote for All Progressive Congress Presidential candidate, Senator Bola Tinubu because Hajiya Nana Shettima touched the lives of thousands of orphans, widows and vulnerable children in respective of their religion and ethnicity with equal treatment in Borno State.

The Tsangaya Association, Muhajirun Youths Development Association and National Huffazul Qur’an and Imams for Peace and Unity of Nigeria in Borno state have jointly presented an award of honour to the founder of SWOT foundation Hajiya Nana Shettima and endorsed the candidature of Tinubu/Shettima in Maiduguri on Thursday.

Speaking at the event Professor of Political Science and International Relations of the University of Maiduguri, Prof. Ibrahim Umara said the award of Honour and endorsement for Tinubu/Shettima President was the result of Nana Shettima’s commitment and dedication to selfless services to the less privileged in the society.

Prof. Umara pointed out that she improved the condition of children, especially orphans and vulnerable people who lost their caregivers to the conflict, therefore, her husband, Senator Kashim Shettima needs all the deserving support.

He said, “When you did good things for people, it comes back to you, Nana Shettima has and still helping thousands of children with her free education foundation. The endorsement for Tinubu/Shettima and Zulum is a way of appreciating her for what she had done. 

“Now, it is time to repay her good deeds for votes through APC in the forthcoming election. Let us vote for Tinubu/ Shettima for renewing hope,” he said.

Also, speaking Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Prof. Yahuza Mohammed noted that the honoured was a replication of her huge contributions towards the Sangaya education where she donated items worth millions of naira to improve the quality of the learning system in the state.

“Let me say this, Nana has immensely supported the masses through her SWOT Foundation especially Tsangaya and other less privileged children.

“Let us join hands together to support them to win this election. We equally assured you that we are going to support Tinubu/Shettima and Babagana Zulum to emerge victorious in the election,” Prof. Yahuza said. 

In his remarks, Hajiya Nana Shettima who was represented by the Secretary of SWOT Foundation, Barr. Abdulsalam Mohammed thanked the gathering for the honour and endorsement and support towards actualizing the Tinubu/ Shetima project.

He recalled that Nana Shettima rendered a lot of humanitarian support in the areas of education and empowerment by opening a school for orphanage free of charge for orphans and less privileged children and she will be willing to do more.

The occasion was chaired by an elder statesman and former secretary to the Yobe State government Alhaji Baba Ba’Aba.
