BE AN ADVOCATE FOR VIOLENCE FREE ELECTIONEERING PERIOD

As election draws nearer, I, Abdulmumin Kolo Gulani respectfully called on youths to serve as peace ambassadors in the forthcoming elections.

I described youths as a root cause of any developmental initiative (negative or positive) recalling the commencement of Boko Haram insurgency was firstly introduced to youths and linked with the teaching of Islam with the aim of propagating the WORDS of Allah. Meaning, western education is forbidden and no doubt Boko Haram insurgency has negatively affected people living in the entire North-Eastern region of Nigeria in different aspects of life.

Meanwhile, youths have a vital role to play especially in the post Boko Haram insurgency which is too relevant to be jettisoned, as they are serving as the back-bone of a society. They can make on what is programmed in them.

The task of youth in post Boko Haram insurgency is very challenging and can be divided into phases. Everyone can contribute towards it according to his or her capabilities. The young people should be made to understand a specific project and its importance to the society.

They should be given a suitable direction so that they can work hard for its fulfillment. This will make them satisfied by the realization that they have been assigned roles in the period.

Let me add that it is high time for youths to see themselves as youths ambassadors so that they cannot cause any means of election disruption in the country. We must get prepared from compromising the needs of corrupt, old and incompetent politicians and begin to transform things from within. The truth is that our nation needs us at this time. This is a naked truth!

We have to also consider that with the balancing of different religion affiliation, ethnicity and gender in activities and their new acquired experiences in the course of a post Boko Haram insurgency. Balancing of diverse religion affiliation, ethnicity, gender and providing equality in a wider sense of social justice, is therefore an essential requirement for any sustainable development and a great role of youths in the society.

“The youths must understand that peace building is one of their major roles in post Boko Haram insurgency in the society” because peace-building is a term that describes the interventions that are designed to prevent the start or resumption of violent conflict by creating a sustainable peace.

Peace-building activities address the root causes or potential causes of violence, create a societal expectation for peaceful conflict resolution and stabilize society politically and socioeconomically. For now, it’s clear that both the society and the government will not accept any form of campaign which is linked with the RELIGION affiliation.

It’s hoped that Nigerians will embrace one another and vote of credible candidates in the forthcoming election irrespective of RELIGIOUS or ETHNICITY.

Vote wisely!

SAY NO TO ELECTION VIOLENCE!
GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!!
