Barely a weeks before the March 18 governorship elections, the Labour Party (LP) has received 300 door to door ambassadors women in politics from New Nigeria People Party(NNPP) across the 27 local government area of Borno State yesterday.
The State Chairman of Labour Party, Mr Ahmad Jiroma while receiving the decampees in Maidiguri yesterday noted that women are pillars of democracy.

Addressing the women, Ahmad commended them and other supporters for standing by Nigerians and Borno state at this critical time and promised that the state governorship candidate, Capt Ibrahim Kadafur would carry everyone along.
“We are glad to welcome you all to our family. The work to take our dear state back is for all of us. We must come together to rebuild Borno state. Nobody is smiling, Hunger in the land. Our leader Capt Ibrahim Kadafur is ever ready to accommodate and gives everyone equal opportunities in LP.
“We are ready to usher in good governance in the state, if we can work together as a team to rescue the state from current situation. I salute your courage to identify with new Nigeria.”He said.

The Leader of the decampees, Shilia Bitrus said they left NNPP because after February 25 elections the party lack capacity to wrestling power from APC and PDP in the country.
“We, like every other Nigerians, are tired of the maladministration of the APC and that of the PDP. We can no longer stand this as they have mortgaged our generation as well as those of our children. It was cleared that NNPP is not ready to rescue us from both parties.”Shilia said.
They also promised to commence a serious campaign as well as bring in more voters before the elections.
