Insurgents flee as troops repel an attack on Borno village 

The troops of Operation Hadin Kai repelled a midnight attack suspected to be Islamic State of West African Province(ISWAP) on the Mafa local government area of Borno State on Friday night, a source said.

It was learnt that the ISWAP rode on motorcycles in an attempt to invade the town before launching a sustained firefight with the troops.

According to Zagazola Makama, A Security Analyst and Counter Insurgency Expert in Lake Chad that the troops thwarted the terrorists’ incursion in a fierce gun battle.

He said many of the invaders escaped with bullet wounds as traces of blood were seen at the scene of the attack.
