An amalgamation of 72 trade unions and associations in Yobe state have declared their support to the re-election bid of Governor Maimala Buni in the forthcoming gubernatorial polls.
The Chairman of Association, Alh. Umaru Barau, stated when he presented an award to Gov. Buni for the achievements being recorded by his administration.
He said the empowerment programmes of the state government has provided artisans in the state with sustainable means of livelihood.
“The interventions by the state government in providing commercial vehicles on loan at subsidised rates, sewing and knitting machines among many others have empowered tradesmen with means of livelihood.
“We will support you, vote you back for a second term to continue doing the good work,”they assured.
The associations presented award of Excellence to Governor Buni for his excellent performance.
He said, “we the representatives of the unions recently met with Governor Buni and assured him of our collective votes in the forthcoming Governorship and state assembly elections”
Responding, Gov Buni said the award given to him by the Unions shows the commitment of his administration to boost the socio-economic activities of the state.
