Ex-governor of Yobe state Senator Ibrahim Muhammad Geidam, has empower 60 youths with tricycle meant to boost socio economic situation in the state.
While distributing the tricycle to the beneficiaries, Senator Geidam who is representing Yobe East at the National Assembly said empowerment is one of the cardinal programmes of his representation.
According to him, the distributing of commercial tricycle business may be considered small scale but the important lesson is a self-employment, saying most of the beneficiaries from the last exercise are reaping the benefits of economic independence and some could move on to diversity their businesses.

He said, in the last 4 years of his representation he created employment by organizing skills acquisition training where youth leant new skills in diverse areas which include fish farming, pomade making, solar installation tie and dye sewing, shoe and bag making among others.
He however, urges the beneficiaries not sell the tricycles given to them as the gesture if fully utilize could be the stepping stone to bigger investment in future.
Commenting, Governor Mai Mala Buni of the state said youth empowerment remain the top priority of his administration in the last four years.
